CR members only, £4 cash on the door.

All abilities are welcome but these sessions are designed to improve your basic body strength, skill, and speed. You will be pushed!

Track Friday is a popular weekly session lead by qualified coaches.

We work to structured interval sessions often to support training for upcoming races. After warming up with a few laps of the track and a few laps of the stadium seating runners will train for an hour on their top end speed and speed endurance.

What does a typical session look like?

400m x 1, 60 sec rest, 800m x 2 60 secs rest, 1200m x 2, 60 secs rest 800m x2, 45 secs rest, 400m x 1
400m is the distance you cover if you go around the track once. So, in the sample above 1200m would be going around the track 3 times and having a 60 second rest in between each 1200m distance.

What if everyone is faster than me?

You have nothing to worry about in this respect. You are there to challenge yourself, you’ll soon forget who’s in front and behind! The track sessions have really helped people improve both their speed and endurance from 5Ks to marathons.
